Photographer Fidan Nazim qizi (b. 1991, Azerbaijan) graduated from Baku State University in 2016 with both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in “Librarianship and Information”. She studied at Light and Composition University – Diploma in the Fundamentals of Photography and YARAT – School of Contemporary Art. After working in the library for years, she worked in the field of accounting, but in recent years she has focused all his attention on photography. She often finds answers to her questions about photography in underground libraries. Years later, she is making handmade photo books under the influence of the library. She makes the papers he finds mostly from underground libraries and unused sheets of paper from her friends. The main theme of her work is calmness, old age and feelings. She also works on projects covering various social issues. She prints and tones in his home lab using an alternative method called “Cyanotype” that has been in use since 1843. She currently works as an editor and photographer for the photography collective BNW Light and Shadow.
